    Description

Abraham Lincoln: Back-to-Back Gault Frame Ferrotype. AL-1864-94, 25 mm gilt brass, holed for suspension, as issued, with period T-bar pin attachment on verso. The Lincoln portrait is bold & sharp with glossy emulsion. The frame is lustrous. The Johnson portrait is also sharp with two "carbon spots" in the field, as made. The frame has some verdigris around the perimeter on the verso and solder flux from the process of attaching the pin. The overall condition is excellent. The visual appeal of the Lincoln side is outstanding and cannot be overestimated.
