    Description

Abraham Lincoln: An 1864 Campaign Ferrotype, "Recycled" as a Mourning Badge. Lincoln was assassinated just months after the election campaign ended, and apparently manufacturers of campaign novelties had left over stocks of items which were quickly adapted as memorial items. Individuals also converted campaign pins by adding black and white rosettes or ribbons. This is a fine example of that adaptation and in excellent condition, with original pin. Size overall: 3" x 4".

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
