    Description

Eleazar Huntington: Declaration of Independence Broadside. Single sheet, 17.5" x 21.5", [Hartford, Connecticut], circa 1820, "Engraved by E. Huntington" in small print along the lower margin. The text of this "Declaration of Independence" follows the original as far as content, however it is recreated using early 19th century type. Huntington, the engraver, was also a master calligrapher and intentionally retained the "feel" of the original Declaration while incorporating new styles of presentation. The famous signatures are faithfully reproduced without embellishment. Pressure-mounted in a Plexiglas frame, mounted on linen, trimmed, creases, 4" vertical tear at top, light damp stains and edge chipping. Exudes a great deal of character.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
