    DeWitt Clinton: High Quality Stobwasser Portrait Snuff Box. 4" papier-mâché snuff box with full color portrait of DeWitt Clinton on the lid. Clinton was the unsuccessful Federalist candidate for President in 1812, serving as Mayor of New York City, Governor of New York State and supervising the construction of the Erie Canal. The interior is marked, in gold, "De Witt Clinton Stobwasser Fabrik" with matching serial numbers 4344. Chipping, wear and loss to the rims, as shown. The portrait is unaffected.
