Chester Alan Arthur: Impressive Large Portrait on Porcelain. 6.25" x 8.75" oval plaque with portrait of our 21st president. Reminiscent of KPM plaques and of equal quality... namely, outstanding. Impressed mark on verso: "[arrow]/ CPM/ 4/ II". There are also four words written in pencil, but indecipherable. 2.5" x 1" shallow "flake" chip on verso, professionally repaired with small hairline crack just barely visible in the 4 o'clock position on the front side, on the edge. It displays beautifully. No doubt made during Arthur's term of office as President and possibly a custom order for the President himself or a family member. The only piece of porcelain we have seen for Arthur. A very impressive piece.
