Benjamin Harrison: Fancy "Will Win the Race" Mechanical Jockey Badge. Wonderful three-piece badge measuring 2" x 2 3/4". The hanger is in the shape of a thoroughbred race horse in full stride with jockey aboard. Hanging from that is a three-dimensional jockey's cap made of tin and brass. That rests on a die-cut paper panel titled "National Sweepstakes". When the cap is moved to one side, it reveals a portrait of Harrison on a red, white and blue shield, captioned: "Harrison Will Win The Race". The paper panel has some edge wear and two creases, plus some partial lifting at the bottom. Certainly, one of the top "novelty" badges of the 1880s which, we assume, was made in limited quantities.
