Bust with "Jo. Adams" below.  Listed by Sullivan as 1796-3, but he did not have access to an example to photograph.  Described by Sullivan as cuff link, but standard shank reverse, and we know of no reason to presume it not to be a coat button.

Similar to the pictured JA 1796-2, and almost certainly by the same manufacturer.  Very minimal light surface wear, and very pleasing color and patina; a beautiful example.  One of only four items listed by Sullivan for our 2nd president, and all are prohibitively rare.  This example was purchased privately from a major New England dealer for over $4000 many years ago.  The much more plentiful G.W. buttons have doubled and tripled in value over that time.  We have certainly never handled one before, and cannot recall seeing one offered in years.  Important opportunity for the most sophisticated collectors of the finest early items.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
