    Description

Andrew Jackson: Prohibitively Rare 1828 Campaign Medal. AJACK-1828-8, 38 mm white metal. DeWitt describes it as "probably one of the rarest of the Jackson pieces. It was unknown to Bushnell, Satterlee or the authors of other lists. A copy appeared at No. 832 in the sale of the John F. McCoy Collection in May, 1864. The sale price almost more than doubled that of any other Jackson piece of which there were several of considerable rarity." Minimal wear with reflective fields, especially so on the reverse. An opportunity not likely to be replicated anytime soon! Sold as lot #9 in the first installment of the Charles McSorley Collection on November 15, 1997. Selections from the Collection of Tom Charles Huston.
