15 x 21² black and red poster titled "Hear Roosevelt's Voice!!" issued by a Chicago distributor of Edison records. "3 Great Speeches" are offered: "The Right of the People to Rule," "The Farmer and the Business Man" and "Social and Industrial Justice." Three images of the "Colonel in Action" giving speeches are shown as well as a circa 1912 portrait of the "Ex-President, Statesman and Orator." These speeches are "Reproduced with amazing fidelity and naturalness on the New Edison Blue Amberol Records." Undated, but likely issued 1912-1919. Amberol records were cylinder records designed for use on floor and table model
Victorla-style machines. They followed the standard cylinders and preceded the thick diamond discs. Although Edison invented the phonograph, he never was "in tune" with the market and always lagged behind his more astute competitors. Very nice condition with usual folds.  Please note: Due to the size and/or weight of this lot, additional shipping costs may apply.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
