Gorgeous 19th Century Multi-Color Gen. George McClellan Tobacco Advertising Card. On heavy stock, produced by the rather obscure H. Wilkens & Co. of Baltimore. McClellan was an interesting choice for a Baltimore maker, since he enjoyed his greatest popularity in Border States like Maryland, which had mixed feelings about the Civil War, and were more receptive to McClellan's 1864 peace platform. This item, more or less the size of a ribbon, is a perfect centerpiece for this tough candidate, and a great deal cheaper than a ribbon ($4000+)! Blank reverse. Excellent condition but for one minor crease. 3" x 4.75".
