Description

1912 ALBUMIN PHOTOGRAPH OF 5 AND 10 CENT STORE WITH CLOTH BANNER HOLDING LARGE-SIZE WILSON, TAFT AND ROOSEVELT PORTRAIT POLITICAL BUTTONS. This neat image captures the real flavor of the 1912 Presidential campaign at its grass roots. Mr. Sanger, a merchant from Lyons, Iowa, displays an array of his wares outside his storefront shop. Personal note on reverse says that he also rented out costumes for all occasions. There is a wonderful view of the products that were available to the average person at the time. Highlighting the whole scene is the banner with the buttons of all three of the Presidential candidates surrounding a sign that reads "10 cents each choice." Great 26 imagery, has it all. Nice condition with very minor aging; 6" x 8."
