Abraham Lincoln: Very Distinctive Parade Flag with Bold Colors.
17" x 12" cotton flag inscribed, in brown ink, "Lincoln and Hamlin" in a most unusual style of lettering. The canton has 31 stars in a unique, pattern with minor light damp staining, mostly along the sides. Two small holes by the "H" in "Hamlin", five nail holes along the left edge or hoist, vibrant colors. Hemmed on three sides using hand-stitching. The overall display appearance is most pleasing. Interestingly, this exceptional flag survived because in 1888 a Republican supporter sewed it onto a cloth campaign apron for Benjamin Harrison! We felt the form detracted from the presentation of the flag itself, and so (with apologies to history) have had it carefully removed from the apron. (Note: the apron will still be delivered to the successful bidder along with the lot.) To our taste this is the most appealing variety of Lincoln and Hamlin name flag, all of which are highly sought after. It is sure to excite much interest from advanced collectors.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
