    Description

Abraham Lincoln: Superb Solid 18K Gold Memorial Watch. A magnificent filigreed and enameled watch with wonderful full color scene of Washington placing a wreath on the head of the martyred president (an image taken from one of the most widely-distributed Lincoln memorial cartes de visite). The white enamel dial is marked "American Watch Co." and the watch is in working order with winding key. Attached is an elaborate 14K gold fob/chain with a large, flawless, and beautifully-faceted amethyst attached. Jewelry value alone on such a fine watch and fob is easily several thousand dollars, quite aside from the value as a Lincoln item. A truly marvelous piece that must be seen and held to be fully appreciated. Diameter 1.75". Beautiful condition.
