Zachary Taylor: Taylor and Fillmore Pewter Rim. Pewter rim medallions or wall plaques were produced from 1824 to 1848. They are considered among the most desirable of campaign items from the antebellum period. This 2½" pewter rim has hand-colored portraits of Zachary Taylor and Millard Fillmore (produced by Nathaniel Currier) on either side. The Taylor side has two small stains in the background and lacks the isinglass cover. The Fillmore is perfect. Considering its rarity and overall appearance, this is a particularly fine specimen.
