    Winfield Scott: Brass Breastplate Attachment.
    WS-1852-15, 66 mm x 87 mm, gilt brass shell. Raised bust of robed Scott, signed P.H. Jacobus on the lower edge of the bust. After the Mexican War, survivors of Pennsylvania regiments formed themselves into a body under the name of the Scott Legion. This was their uniform breastplate. A finely-executed image of Scott, light tarnish, else fine.
