    Description

William Henry Harrison: Rare Large Lidded Soup Tureen from the Avidly Collected Columbian Star Set. Considered the rarest and most desirable piece from this set, which depicts Harrison plowing in front of his North Bend cabin. Columbian Star imprint with 1840 date on the underside. A little trivial surface crazing and light discoloration on the underside is noted for accuracy, but this example is in beautiful condition. Handles and finial are original and never broken or repaired. Ladle is not included. For those with the sentimental bent, this was one of Ceil Harris's best-loved pieces. It was originally slated to be sold with most of the collection in 1999, but at the last minute Ceil decided she simply couldn't part with it, and after a search through the packing boxes. It was proudly ensconced once again on the table just inside the Harris' front door! Length 13", height 11". From the U. I. "Chick" and Cecilia Harris Collection.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
