William Henry Harrison: Harrison & Reform Cup and Saucer. This soft paste, strawberry lustre cup and saucer was issued for the 1840 presidential campaign of the "Log Cabin and Hard Cider Candidate", William Henry Harrison. It has the three basic transfers that appear on the various lustreware mugs and pitchers. The saucer has a half-length portrait with flags representing the battles of Tippecanoe and Thames, inscribed "Our Country's Hope. Harrison & Reform". The cup has transfers of an eagle with riband inscribed "Union for the Sake of the Union" and a log cabin with a sign on the door reading: "To Let in 1841". Each piece has decorative light turquoise and strawberry lustre banding. The transfers are uniformly dark and crisp. The saucer has two very tight and barely imperceptible hairline cracks on the lower border. The cup has two tight hairlines on the eagle transfer side. There are no stains or repairs.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
