William Henry Harrison: An Exceedingly Rare Blown Glass Flask From the 1840 Campaign. Political collectors are most familiar with the many varieties of these flasks picturing Zachary Taylor. Somewhat scarcer, but also familiar are those depicting Andrew Jackson. However, even most sophisticated political collectors are unaware of the existence of this elusive flask from Harrison's campaign. On one side is a log cabin and split rail fence, while the other side shows a barrel, plow and flagpole, with the bold slogan "Hard Cider". While many collectors might presume to value more highly the rare flask depicting John Quincy Adams, we can recall seeing at least three examples of the Adams version over the years. However, this is the first time we have ever encountered this Harrison variety, which is highly sought after by glass collectors as well. This aqua-tinted one-pint flask is in choice condition. There is a minor soft depression on the rim, not a chip, but as made, possibly a "straw mark" (when first blown, these flasks were then laid out on straw to dry. Sometimes, a particularly stiff straw would leave an impression that would harden into the finished glass). We believe this to be the only example of this Harrison flask to be available to the political collecting fraternity.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
