Washington City: A Superb Large Liverpool Creamware Pitcher, Circa late 1790s, Featuring Figures of Liberty Unveiling a Map of the Planned Capitol. With its impressive 9.25" size and extensive gold leaf decoration, this is one of the most beautiful such pitchers we have encountered. The Washington map transfer is rare and highly desirable. Sailing vessel sporting a prominent American flag on reverse side, with wonderful image of an eagle under the pouring spout.

Display appearance is gorgeous, near-mint. Several clean breaks have been invisibly repaired by a top china restorer, but there is no restoration.
