Washington, Adams et al: "Emblem of America" Liverpool Pitcher. 9.5" tall Liverpool jug with a "Washington in Glory America in Tears" transfer on one side. A Masonic transfer dated 1801, the owner's initials ("RFH") and an eagle with fifteen stars appears below the spout. The other side has an allegorical transfer titled "An Emblem of America" depicting Lady Liberty, a sixteen star flag, two Native Americans and seven small portraits of famous figures. These include Columbus, Amerigo Vespucci, Sir Walter Raleigh, Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, John Adams and an unnamed celebrity. The piece has had some fairly extensive restoration, most notably to the base, with overall discoloration. The Washington transfer has some black smudging but the more important "Emblem of America" transfer is clean with sharp detail. Having a piece with portraits of both Washington and Adams is rather neat! From the Collection of David and Janice Frent.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
