Description
Ulysses S. Grant: Bronze Bust by Gerhardt. 8 1/2" bronze bust of Grant in military uniform, signed on the back: "Copyright by K. Gerhardt Sculptor 1885." A fine, somber likeness of the Civil War hero who died the same year this was produced. One of an edition of 100, stamped "85" on lower rear. Mark Twain, who had some involvement in the publication of Grant's Memoirs, financed the production of this work.Auction Info
