    Description

Rare Civil War Era Parian Box With Fractional Currency Motif
Lidded box in the shape of a stack of bank notes, with the image of a 25 cent note picturing Lincoln's Treasury Secretary, William P. Fessenden, on top. We have seen a similar box by the same manufacturer with a portrait of General McClellan, but never this variety, which will hold a special appeal for collectors of early U.S. currency. Beautiful condition. 3 3/4" x 1 3/4" x 1 1/8".
