    Description

Mary Todd Lincoln: Personal China. Mary Todd Lincoln loved to shop and accumulated lots of quality goods during her lifetime, much of which was sold off after her husband's assassination in order to pay creditors and personal expenses. We don't know where she purchased this 7.5" plate, possibly at Haughwout's on Broadway and Broome in New York City (the building still stands today). It has a peach-colored border, a decorative design encircling the plate and the letter "L" at the crest. It has four scallop chips, only one of which is visible from the front.

You reach a customer base that is in many ways completely unknown to the major auction houses, and your marketing to this base is as professional as one could hope for. As I continue to wind down my holdings.
