    Description

    Martin Van Buren: Reverse Painting on Glass.
    7" x 10" folk art portrait of our 8th President, titled "M: v: Buren". Housed in the original brown wood frame with the original wooden back board, measuring 9.25" x 12" overall. Some typical loss in white lower border, one small spot of loss in brown background, lateral crack in the right side which does not affect portrait. Likely produced in Pennsylvania in the 1830s. A charming piece.
