    Description

Lincoln and Grant: Marvelous, Unique Civil War-Era Woman's Dresser Set with Perfume Bottles Picturing Each. The only example we have ever seen and surely one of the nicest contemporary Lincoln display items. Four pieces of frosted milk glass with colorful decoration rest in an ornate brass base measuring 7.5" x 7.5". In addition to the two portrait perfume bottles, each with original glass stopper, there are a bowl and a ring stand, each with elegant hand-painted decoration. A really lovely piece that must be seen in person to be fully appreciated.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
