Harrison & Reid: Jugate Lithographed Tin Parade Torch. Wonderful display piece from the campaign of 1892... a torch measuring 53" from tip-to-tip, featuring a red, white and blue tin drum reservoir with black & white portraits of Harrison & Reid on either side. The drum is 5.25" in diameter. There are some dings and wear to the paint, as to be expected. The portrait of Harrison is very clear with only a minor abrasion on the forehead. The Reid portrait has scattered rust spots, but is fully intact and clear. An old split near the top of the pole has been bound with heavy gauge wire, done a long time ago. These were produced in the 1880-1892 period and are among the most desirable parade torches. They seldom appear on the market and, when they do appear, condition is often deplorable. This example is exceptionally nice for the type. It shows good, honest use and have a lot of character. We think it "beats" a frame full of buttons or ribbons.
