    Description

Grover Cleveland: Mechanical Wooden Egg. The mate to the adjacent Harris example. "I Crow for Cleveland" on brass rooster. There was originally advertising for a Reading, PA tailor on the side of the egg, but this is mostly worn off from handling. Very good shape overall and in working order. There are also similar generic eggs without candidates' names on the rooster, but of course these, while collectible as early advertising items, are far less valuable. From the U. I. "Chick" and Cecilia Harris Collection.
