George Washington: Three Fine Memorial Images, All Circa 1800

    1. Barralet re-working of Edwin/Bartoli engraving, Hart 788 and pictured in Wick. Original glass "matte", reverse painted with black and gold paint, and original gilt wood frame. Excellent condition, and very nice for display. 14" x 19" as framed.
    2. Uncommon 1801 engraving with GW portrait on memorial monument, Sacred to the Memory of Illustrious G. Washington. By T. Clarke, listed as Hart 279. (This is the version without reworking of the engraving.) In original frame, and measuring 11" x 12.5" as framed. Excellent condition.
    3. A most unusual piece: what appears to be a period watercolor of a rare J. Collyer engraving which was printed by J. Wright. (Engraving is Hart 141, Baker 76). Minor spotting/staining, but still attractive display appearance. Vintage, but probably not original matte and frame. The oval itself measures 7.5" x 10.75", 13" x 15.5" as framed.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
