    Description

DRAMATIC LARGE MID-19TH CENTURY GEORGE WASHINGTON WATER PITCHER. This massive 12" silver-plate pitcher bears the manufacturer plate of "Middletown Plate Co., Middletown, Connecticut" on the bottom. It is elegantly made, and features a raised 2 ¾" medallion portrait of GW on each side. The hinged lid on the top sports a delicate swan as a finial. Light overall "aging" from use, but has suffered no specific damage; just a good "antique" feel. Rich pewter-colored tarnish has taken generations to evolve. Very nice display "presence."
