Blaine & Logan and Cleveland & Hendricks: Double Jugate Pitcher. What's better than one jugate? Two jugates! This 7 3/4" pitcher is just that. It has transfer portraits of both major party tickets from 1884. Viewed from the front we see Cleveland & Hendricks. Viewed from the back we see Blaine & Logan. The first transfers are in black & white... the second in mulberry. The names are inscribed in gold and gilded highlights are generously applied throughout. The enigmatic initials "W. C, A" appear just below the spout. The condition, as can readily be seen, is less than perfect. There is crazing, discoloration, four hairlines near the top, a chip to the base and a partially restored spout. Despite this, it remains a real showpiece and perhaps the only survivor.
