    Anti-Slavery: Fine Ceramic Pitcher, Circa 1840. On one side, a scene of a black woman working a loom, with "The Tyrant's Foe/ The People's Friend". On the other side is a quote from the U.S. Constitution regarding freedom of religion and speech, freedom to peaceably assemble, and petition the government for redress of grievances. Made in England for the American market. Excellent condition, but for one minor chip on the upper edge. From the U. I. "Chick" and Cecilia Harris Collection.
