    Description

    Andrew Jackson: 1829 Inauguration Glass and Wood Box. 10.5" x 7" x 3" tall wooden box with green paper trim and stenciled decoration on three sides. The lid is formatted somewhat like a block-corner frame with bronze highlights, housing a glass panel with engraved civilian portrait of Jackson, inscribed: "Andrew Jackson/ Born May 15th 1767. In. 1829". A strip of cloth attached to one side facilitates the removal of the lid. The interior is lined with colored paper. A most distinctive 3-D item for Old Hickory.
