    Description

Abraham Lincoln: Rare Straight Razor with bearded portrait and name on the handle. Elaborate scrollwork decor fills the rest of the translucent handle made of a horn-like material. Sheffield blade. Original embossed case from the George Wostenholm & Sons Co., which was a major producer of razors from around 1830 until shortly after the Civil War. Inasmuch as there is no memorial flavor to the decoration, it seems safe to date this razor to the late Civil War period. As such, it is an important Lincoln item: the only straight razor we are aware of featuring Lincoln and from his lifetime. Excellent condition. Length 6.5".
