    Description

    Abraham Lincoln: Period Redware Vase.
Likely produced in England for export to the American market, this 5" redware vase has raised portraits of "A. Lincoln" on either side, beneath an American eagle, surrounded by an oak wreath. There is an arabesque design encircling the base. This example has a brown glaze and has been hand-colored in black and red. There is a note inside the vase that reads: "Vase used in Second Lincoln Campaign". One side has a 2" x 1 1/2" section at the top which broke off and has been glued back together. The other side is perfect.
