    Abraham Lincoln: Leonard Volk Plaster Life Mask and Hands. 10" tall x 8" across x 6" deep plaster life mask of Lincoln originally done by Chicago sculptor Leonard Wells Volk in the Spring of 1860. Painted off-white, loop on verso for hanging, marked L W VOLK towards the bottom of the jaw, 1" thickness. Sold together with the matching pair of clenched hands of Lincoln, also by Volk. These are solid plaster, approximately 4.25" x 6" x 4", no markings or attachment loop, painted gold. Sold as Lot #249 by Ribley-Mobley Auctions on October 25, 1986 where they realized $1,400. Likely cast in the last quarter of the 19th century.
