    Description

    Zachary Taylor: Reverse-Transfer on Glass Wall Plaque. 1.75" x 2.25" oval glass disc with hand-colored transfer portrait of Taylor, housed in a make-do 3.75" x 4.25" ebonized wall plaque. The portrait is recessed from the surface plane. It has some crazing to the background, areas of discoloration and lifting of the transfer from the glass, most noticeable in the hair. Issued circa 1848-1849, made in France for the American market.
