William Randolph Hearst: Fantastic Mirror Triptych Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the San Francisco Examiner. If you collect Hearst memorabilia, this is a must-have piece which will be the highlight of your collection! It is a standing beveled plate glass mirror triptych. Each of the design elements is placed on the underside of the glass. The central panel (approximately 19" x 30") shows an American flag and reads "1930 Wm. Randolph Hearst" (some loss to the molding, as shown, with two small imperfections in the silvering of the mirror at extreme top & bottom). The left panel (14.5" x 27") depicts a goddess holding a sword and a tablet which reads "San Francisco Examiner Fifty Years of Public Service Under Hearst Management". It is titled "Golden Jubilee". The wood frame is missing a 4" section of molding. The right panel shows Hearst standing in front of an NBC microphone and is titled "100% American". The three panels are connected with steel hinges and screws. We have unscrewed the connections for ease of photography and shipping. Obviously a unique piece which likely was displayed at the headquarters of the newspaper in 1930.
