    Description

William McKinley: 1896 Sound Money Clock. This very attractive, lavishly embellished clock is 15" high and topped by a bust of William McKinley. The clock-face is black with gold numerals and a depiction of a $20 gold piece with "Sound Money" above and "1896" below. On each side of the clock are motifs representing commerce, industry, agriculture, and transportation. The base of the clock bears the words, "Protection - Prosperity", McKinley's slogan during the campaign. The clock-face is marked "Robert Johns Mfr. Chicago". The case is iron with a bronze finish. Insignificant wear to the finish, else, excellent.
