    Description

William Jennings Bryan and William Taft: Milk Glass "Top Hat" Campaign Coin Bank, made for the 1908 campaign. Often seen incomplete, the important paper and metal insert for the hat's opening is lithographed with portraits of the candidates. A slit in the paper makes this a most rare and desirable still bank. Here the Bryan has only light staining but the Taft insert shows foxing and roughness along the edges. Tough to find complete, here we have a pair being sold as one lot. From the U. I. "Chick" and Cecilia Harris Collection.
