Theodore Roosevelt: Huge 1904 Banner. 200" x 108" (16.6' x 9') swallow-tail banner made of cotton or bunting material. The lettering reads: "Roosevelt and Fairbanks". There is a canvas hoist with enclosed rope loops for attachment. In addition, part of the top red border has been folded over and sewn down, likely to create a sleeve to accommodate a horizontal suspension rod. When viewed from the back side, one can see that the lettering is silhouetted or "hollow cut" (material cut away so that the lettering on the front shows through). There is some fraying on the bottom right corner and in the red border adjacent to the hoist. Also some scattered small holes and minor bleeding of the red dye, seen as splotches. The colors are bright and the overall condition is very good. The red borders are 8 1/2" wide.
