    Description

Hoover-Curtis License Plate Attachment, 8" x 6.5", 1928. The surnames of Republican candidates Herbert Hoover and Charles Curtis appear in gold ink on the side of a molded rubber GOP elephant. License plate attachments were the forerunners of today's bumper stickers and enjoyed their heyday during the 1940s and 1950s. This elephant is a very early use of the form. Mounted to cardboard with overall light crazing and a tiny area of loss to the trunk. Overall very good condition.
