    Franklin D. Roosevelt: Stangl "Happy Days Are Here Again" Prohibition Repeal Pitcher and Mug Set. Originally made by Stangl pottery in 1934 to celebrate "Repeal", this pitcher and mug set features caricatures of FDR and other prominent Democrats. This lot includes pieces of this set in light brown, each with each bearing the slogan "Happy Days Are Here Again" and an image of a noted politician. The caricatures are of: FDR (pitcher and one mug); former Governor of New York and Democratic presidential candidate Alfred E. Smith; Maryland Governor Albert Ritchie; Postmaster General James Farley; former Secretary of War Newton Baker; and former Secretary of the Treasury William Gibbs McAdoo. The Stangl Company, New Jersey. Pitcher: 7.5" H. Mugs: 4" H. Very fine.
