[Lee Harvey Oswald]: Gun Used by Sgt. Gerald Hill in Arresting JFK's Assassin. This is the gun used by Dallas Police Department Officer Sgt. Gerald Hill in the arrest of Lee Harvey Oswald in the Texas Theater in the hours following the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Hill was the lead officer in the initial investigation of the Texas Schoolbook Depository building uncovering the sniper's perch, spent rifle casings and the rifle that was used in the crime. He then responded to a report of a suspicious character and possible suspect seen entering the Texas Theater. Hill then proceeded to the theater with a support team and managed to subdue and arrest Oswald after a brief, but dangerous struggle. At the end of the day, he acted as spokesman for the police department at a national press conference where Oswald was identified as the lead suspect and his apprehension reported. We are also selling the sports jacket worn by Hill on that eventful day. Accompanied by a Letter of Provenance attesting to its authenticity,.Colt Police Positive Double Action Revolver. Serial no. 138022, .38 caliber, 2 1/8-inch barrel with fixed front sight and frame notch rear sight. Blued finish. Checkered plastic factory grips with Colt medallions. Contained in brown leather holster numbered 13 and with snap closure.
Condition: Good. Retaining approximately 50-60% with scattered signs of wear, scratches and patches of pitting. Minor dings to grips and noticeable plastic loss to each base. Action good. Strong bore. Discoloring and cracking present to leather
