Wonderful Souvenir Photo Album of Southwest Tour. Original souvenir photo album documenting an excursion trip to New Orleans, Texas and Southern California taken by a large group of Easterners in 1887. The album contains forty-seven high quality albumen photos (on larger mounts), each identified on the lower portion of the mount. There are images of early street scenes in New Orleans, Galveston (pre-dating the Great Hurricane and flooding of 1900), San Antonio, El Paso, Santa Monica and Riverside. There are also images of monuments, early missions, the Alamo, Mexicans, Native Americans and even one of the photographer with his tripod-mounted camera in a canyon near Santa Monica. A view taken from the Santa Monica hotel shows a pristine landscape with a mere handful of farm houses. A printed souvenir pamphlet with the travelers' names is included. The album is a bit shaken with slight curving of the mounts. The photos are in uniformly excellent condition.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
