    William Nelson Rector Beall (1825-1883) was a Confederate brigadier general who fought under Earl Van Dorn and P. G. T. Beauregard. He was captured following the surrender of Port Hudson, serving as a purchasing agent for supplies to benefit Confederate P.O.W.'s. He was finally released by the Federal government in August 1865, and moved to St. Louis, Missouri after the war.

    Condition: Light edge toning and light wear to the edges and corners. Minor foxing throughout.
