William Henry Jackson, Photographer: Seven Vintage Photo Chromolithographs of Cowboy Life. Lot of seven different cowboy related color lithographic prints, published by the Detroit Photographic Company using the "Photochrom" process to colorize acclaimed Western photographer William Henry Jackson's original black and white negatives.

Jackson likely shot the images circa 1880-1890, the print date is circa 1898, after Jackson joined the Detroit Publishing Company and contributed an impressive 10,000 of his personal negatives the company's archives.

Six of the images measure 7" x 3.5", archivally mounted to an overall size of 10.75" x 7": 51039 "A Cowboy"; 51056 "Cowboy Throwing Lariat"; 51057 "Colorado, The 'Round Up' Grub Pile"; 51059 "Colorado, Branding Calves"; 51060 "Colorado, 'Round Up' in the Corral"; 51061 "Colorado, The 'Round Up' Roping A Steer." The seventh image, 53124 "Colorado 'Round Up' on the Cimarron" measures 9" x 7" and is not mounted.

A wonderful collection of images, notable both for their portrayal of the life of an American cowboy as well as a fine example of the Photochrom process. Excellent condition.
