    William Henry Jackson, Photographer: Eleven Vintage Photo Chromolithographs of Mining Life. Lot of eleven different mining related color lithographic prints, published by the Detroit Photographic Company using the "Photochrom" process to colorize acclaimed Western photographer William Henry Jackson's original black and white negatives.

    Jackson likely shot the images circa 1880-1890, the print date is circa 1898, after Jackson joined the Detroit Publishing Company and contributed an impressive 10,000 of his personal negatives the company's archives.

    Images measure 7" x 3.5", archivally mounted to an overall size of 10.75" x 7": 51042 "Colorado. Aspen Silver Mines"; 51043 "Colorado. 'American-Nettie' Mine, Ouray"; 51048 "Colorado. A Miner's Blacksmith"; 51049 "Colorado. Dug Out Cabins"; 51050 "Colorado. A Pioneer Merchant"; 51051 "Colorado. Burros at Silver Mine"; 51053 "Colorado. Pack Train Ready for Mules"; 51054 "Colorado. Pack Train on Mountain Road"; 51055 "Colorado. Burros Loaded with Lumber"; 51062 "A Temperance Outfit"; 51063 "Colorado. Mt. Sopris from Spring Gulch Mine".

    A wonderful collection of image, notable both for their portrayal of mining communities as well as a fine example of the Photochrom process. Excellent condition.
