Western Lawmen: Two Large Original Photos. Pinal County, Arizona, deputy sheriff Phineas Brown with two others on horseback. According to the consignor the "last photo of Phineas Brown". He was ambushed and killed on August 19, 1914, while trying to arrest four horse thieves. This set off the bloodiest manhunt in Arizona history. A large posse approached the robbers' camp, killing four outlying defenders before assaulting the camp itself, where two more outlaws and two posse members died in the gunfire. Two more gang members were killed elsewhere, and the last member was captured and hanged on December 10, 1915. 11" x 8.5" including mount, and in nice condition.

Great circa early 1900s photo of armed Texas Rangers in front of their Cameron, Texas, headquarters. 14" x 11.5" including mount, and in very good condition with minor light soiling and a trace of light discoloration.
