Very Rare John Wilkes Booth Tintype Photograph in a Great Carte de Visite Frame. While both albumen cartes de visite and cabinet photos are readily available, we have never seen this format before. Terrific CDV reads, "J. Wilkes Booth, the Assassin -- A monstrous villain here behold, who wrought a demon's work for gold; Long as his victim live in fame, Mankind shall curse the murderer's name."

Published by Pond and Hambleton, Buffalo, New York. The inset 0.75" x 1.0" tintype is choice, as is the card itself but for some extremely trivial light soiling. 2.375" x 4".
