    Union Soldiers: Collection of 34 Carte de Visites of Union Officers and Generals. A nice grouping of CDVs, including the following:

    Major General George G. Meade: waist up pose in uniform, C.D. Fredericks & Co., NYC back mark, identified in ink on verso.
    Maj. Gen. James B. McPherson: mid chest view in uniform.
    Pvt. Maynard A. Huyck: of the 33rd New York Light Artillery, civilian bust view, Sumner & Harris, Union Gallery Gen'l. Butler's H. Qrs. in the field back mark, signed in ink and identified in pencil on verso.
    Thomas R. Worsley: of the 16th Conn. Vols., signed in ink on front, O.J. Smith, Newbern back mark, identified in pencil on verso.
    Pvt. Solon Johnson: of the 1st Mass. Hvy. Artillery, full standing with sword, identified in pencil on verso.
    Col. Elmer E. Ellsworth: full standing holding sword, Silbee, Case & Co., Boston back mark, identified in ink on verso (killed at Alexandria May 24, 1861).
    Col. Charles R. Codman: of the 45th Mass. Vols., full standing holding kepi, J.E. Tilton & Co., Boston back mark, identified in pencil on front and verso.
    Pvt. William H. Waughop: of the 86th Illinois Vols., bust view, J.H. Van Stavoern, Nashville ack mark, signed in ink on front and identified in pencil on verso.
    Capt. James B. Nichols: of the 24th Mass. Vols., bust view, Silbee, Case & Co., Boston back mark, signed in ink and identified in pencil on verso.
    Pvt. George E. Snow: of the 29th Mass. Vols., seated portrait, W. Fred Carpenter, Foxboro, Massachusetts back mark (Killed in action at Fort Stedman, Va. March 25, 1865), identified in pencil on verso.
    Capt. Samuel Fisk: of the 14th Connecticut, seated with large 2nd Corps badge on his hat (Mortally wounded in action at the Wilderness, Va.), identified in pencil on verso.
    Pvt. Cyrus C. Hutchins: of the Co. B, 12th New York cavalry, seated wearing a hat, signed in ink on front and identified in pencil on verso.
    2nd Lt. Rose: of the 35th New Jersey Vols., full standing and dressed in Cladek Zouaves uniform, W.H. Rolf's, Newark back mark.
    Two full standing Albany Zouave cadets: of the 10th New York Vols., holding rifles with Maynard tape primer lock plates, dated August 1861 on verso in ink.
    Quartermaster L. R. Young: of the 35th New Jersey Vols., seated, identified in ink on verso.

    Along with almost twenty other CDVs of unidentified Union soldiers of various rank and produced by various photography studios. There is even a small boy, about ten years old, wearing the uniform of the 8th New York State Militia. A great collection of images, which display the variety of soldiers and photography techniques used at the time.

    Condition: CDVs range from good to fair, with varying degrees of toning, soiling, foxing, etc.
